　　1 第一條原則：理解而后能背。

　　對于一篇課文，首要問題是要非常清楚它的意思。只有在這個基礎上才能開始努力去背。生吞活剝式的死記硬背是沒有效果的。在背之前首先要弄懂文章的中心內容，記敘文要弄清楚記述的事情、人物、時間、地點等等，說明文要明白主要解說的對象和不同方面和性質，而議論文則要弄清所討論的問題和主要的論點、論據(jù)、論證的關系。

　　要以文章內容為線索進行記憶。要弄懂上下句之間的內容和邏輯上的'關系，而后才是語言上的起承轉合。這樣背課文就是因事而語，有意義地背，言之有物，背之有理。這樣的背誦對日后的寫作和口語幫助也是最大的。

　　2 第二條原則：先聽后背。

　　既然背課文是練習英語口語行之有效的方法，那在背的時候就要特別注意。學語言模仿是關鍵，所以在背之前要先聽，聽要聽原裝正版的錄音，當然推薦外籍教師的錄音，這樣能夠學到非常地道的發(fā)音。而且要反復聽，直到能夠模仿得很像為止。這一個階段是比較枯燥的，但非常有效。

　　3 第三條原則：從易到難、從短到長、循序漸進

　　背課文比較艱苦，特別是一開始，最是要避免產(chǎn)生抵觸心理。所以開始的時候哪怕就只是幾句話也好，先要建立信心和興趣。不要貪多，想一口吃個胖子的想法是極端錯誤的。急不得，慢慢增長，逐漸地熟悉背課文的套路和一些英語中常用的關聯(lián)詞，能夠越來越容易。
